In today’s world technology is everything and most kids from more privileged communities not only have access to technology in many forms, but are experts on them. The young seem to have the ability to master them instinctively. For education purposes technology opens up a world of possibilities – new and exciting ways to learn, fun and engaging methods that make even difficult subjects easy to grasp. At CAL, we want to bring this advantage to the underprivileged children so they too have the opportunity to learn in a modern way, as well as be prepared for the challenges of the world beyond their environment. We started this initiative at our Batticaloa centre where the children were introduced to iPads and had hands-on experience in learning through them. We hope to continue with this programme at our other centres as well.
