Child Development Coordinator –Colombo

Responsibilities

  • Engage with programmes under Child Protection, Health & Nutrition, Education and Sustainability and facilitate them at the respective Child Development Center
  • Observe each child, help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem while encouraging the children to interact with each other
  • Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum mainly focused on activity-based learning
  • Watch for signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and bring potential problems to the attention of parents or guardians and the respective Child Development Centre Head

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Social Work, Sociology, Community Development, International Development Studies, Psychology, Counselling, Education or any relevant field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in an NGO, Child Development, Teaching, or Community development is an added advantage
  • Excellent command of English and computer literacy

Project Coordinator – Galle (Thalpe)

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new and existing programs that address the needs of underprivileged children and families in the areas of Child Protection, Health & Nutrition, Education & Sustainability.
  • Play a pivotal role focused on the Child Development center, encompassing planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. Accordingly adapt project operations as needed to meet evolving requirements.
  • Maintain a well-functioning and reliable information network, and foster strong relationships with internal as well as external stakeholders (government, community, schools etc) keeping them engaged, informed and their interests at the heart of decision making.
  • Timely reporting on the projects, programs conducted on all important approaches
  • Provide technical support and guidance on monitoring and evaluation to implementing/operational partners when required
  • Drive the identification, documentation and dissemination of best practices and lessons learned to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the organization

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Business Administration, Community Development or any relevant field
  • 2-3 years’ experience in an NGO, Child Development, Community development and handling projects
  • Excellent command of English and experience in handling teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
