Sri Lanka faces an Economic crisis because of its twin deficit and has left the country crippled and in short supply of many vital things such as medicines, fuel and gas. CAL has had to manure around this obstacle bravely finding new alternatives especially to gas so that we can continue to cook and provide nutritious food for the children at the center.
The Centers now have taken measures to do their cooking using firewood and moving their kitchen outside to make this transition easier. The ongoing daily power cuts has made running the centers more difficult but our staff has bravely soldiered through this obstacle and have given it their all and continue to serve our communities and our children. With the shortage of fuel supply in the country many children could not make it to the center for their daily classes. CAL made study kits that could be delivered to the children who would otherwise come to the center so that they can still receive their education through these educational kits until they are able to resume their education at the centers again.
